HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2003-R0164 - Joint Interlocal Application For Grant Funding - Narcotics Task Force - 04_24_2003Resolution No. 2003-RO164 April 24, 2003 Item No. 23 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a joint application with Lubbock County, Gaines County, and the City of Lamesa, Texas, for grant funding and related documents for the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for State and Federal assistance for operation of the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force to combat narcotics and illegal substances trafficking. The City Council hereby agrees to a cash match of $259,351.00, from the City of Lubbock to fund 25% of the Project, as required by the State of Texas in order to be eligible to receive such State and Federal assistance; and THAT in the event of loss or misuse of funds of the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, provided pursuant to said joint application for grant funding, this Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division. On this the le day of December, 2002, there came on and was held at the regular meeting place, the City Hall, an open meeting of the City Council of the City of Lamesa, Texas held pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act; (Local Govt. Code, Chapter 551); there being a quonun present and acting throughout the meeting, the following resolution was formally submitted by motion and duly seconded for the consideration and action of the meeting, to wit: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lamesa wishes to approve an interagency agreement between the City of Lamesa and the City of Lubbock with respect to a joint grant application with the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor for the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force and hereby authorizes the City Manager to act as the City's chief executive officer and authorized representative in all matters pertaining to the City's participation in the grant project; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and welfare that said resolution be passed; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAMESA, TEXAS, that the City Council of the City of Lamesa hereby approves an interagency agreement between the City of Lamesa and the City of Lubbock with respect to a joint grant application with the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor for the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force to combat narcotics and illegal substances trafficking and hereby authorizes the City Manager to act as the City's chief executive officer and authorized representative in all matters pertaining to the City's participation in the grant project. The City Council hereby agrees to a cash match of $11,292.00, from the City of Lamesa to fimd 25% of the Project, as required by the State of Texas in order to be eligible to receive such State and Federal assistance; and THAT in the event of loss or misuse of funds of the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, provided pursuant to said joint application for grant funding, this Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division Upon being put to a vote, the resolution was Passed, Approved, and Adopted this 16* day of December, 2002 by a majority vote and ordered to be spread upon the minutes of the City Council of the City of Larnesa, Texas and recorded in the resolution book thereafter. APPROVING AN INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF GAINES AND THE CITY OF LUBBOCK WITH RESPECT TO A JOINT GRANT APPLICATION WITH CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS REGIONAL NARCOTICS TASK FORCE AND HEREBY AUTHORIZES THE SHERIFF OF GAINES COUNTY TO ACT AS THE COUNTIES AUTHORIZED REPRESENATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE COUNTIES PARTICIPATION IN THE GRANT PROJECT. On this 25m day of November, 2002 there came on and was held at the regular meeting place, the Gaines County Courthouse, an open meeting of the Commissioners Court of Gaines County, Texas, held pursuant to the provisions of the Texas open meetings ACT; (Local Government. Code chapter 551) there being a quorum present and acting throughout the meeting, the following resolution was formally submitted by motion and duly seconded for the consideration and action of the meeting, to wit: WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Gaines County,Texas wishes to approve an interagency agreement between the County of Gaines and the City of Lubbock with respect to a joint grant application with the Criminal Justice Division of the office of the Governor for the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force and hereby authorizes the Sheriff of Gaines County to act as the Counties authorized representative in all matters pertaining to the Counties participation in the grant project; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and welfare that said resolution be passed; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF GAINES COUNTY, TEXAS, that the Commissioners Court of Gaines County,Texas approve an interagency agreement between the County of Gaines and the City of Lubbock with respect to a joint grant application with the Criminal Justice Division of the office of the Governor for the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force to combat narcotics and illegal substances trafficking and hereby authorizes the Sheriff of Gaines County to act as the representative in all matters pertaining to the Counties participation in the grant project. Be it further resolved, Gaines County agrees to their matching fund of 13,430. Be it put to a vote, the resolution was passed, Approved, and Adopted on this 25t' day of November, 2002. Judy o e G iyfes County Judge Robert Wood Commissioner r Ray ett Commissioner Charley Lopez Co issi er Terry Jeffr s 6mlifssioner RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMNIISSIONERS COURT OF LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS: On the 25' day of November 2002, the Lubbock County Commissioners Court met and unanimously adopted the following resolution: THAT the County Judge of Lubbock County, Texas be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of Lubbock County, Texas a joint application with the City of Lubbock, Texas for grant funding and related documents for the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the State and Federal assistance for the operation of the South Plains Regional Narcotics Task Force to combat narcotics and illegal substance trafficking. The City of Lubbock, Texas has agreed to provide a cash match of one hundred ten thousand, three hundred twenty four dollars ($110,324.00) and Lubbock County, Texas has agreed to provide a cash match oftwenty seven thousand, fifty dollars ($27,050.00) which totals one hundred thirty seven thousand, three hundred seventy four dollars ($137,374.00), to fund 25 percent of the Project as required by the State of Texas in order to be eligible to receive such State and Federal funding.
