HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2003-R0572 - Resolution Waiving Right To Apply For Juvenile Accountability Block Grant - 12_18_2003Resolution No. 2003-RO572 December 18, 2003 Item No. 25 MTSZIji 6163a WHEREAS, certain block grant funds in the amount of Seventy -Six Thousand One Hundred Seventy Nine and No/100 Dollars ($76,179) (the "Funds") is designated for allocation to the City of Lubbock through the Criminal Justice division of the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock desires to waive their right to apply for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock designates Lubbock County as the recipient of the Funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock agrees to appoint one member to serve on the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition created by the County of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Council of the City of Lubbock hereby waives its right to apply for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant and designates Lubbock County as the recipient of the Funds. Be it further resolved that the Lieutenant of the City of Lubbock Police Department Juvenile Division is hereby designated to serve on the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition as created by the County of Lubbock, and that the County of Lubbock shall furnish quarterly reports of the said waived funds to the City of Lubbock by furnishing copies to the Lieutenant of the Juvenile Division.
