HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2009-R0498 - Grant Petition For Annexation - 11_05_2009Resolution No. 2009-RO498 November 5, 2009 Item No. 6.1 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the owners of 49.225 acres of real property further described in Exhibit A attached hereto located West of Upland Avenue and North of 66 h Street have filed a petition requesting annexation of said property with the City of Lubbock on the 9th day of October, 2009; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heard arguments for and against the requested annexation at a meeting conducted on the 5t` day of November, 2009; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to grant said Petition for Annexation; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Section 43.028 of the Local Government Code, the City of Lubbock hereby grants the Petition for Annexation attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes. SECTION 2, THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney shall prepare an annexation Ordinance for consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A into the City of Lubbock. Passed by the City Council this 5th day of November '2009. We certify that this Petition is signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation owning said land or having an interest in any part thereof.
