In our application, we have requested an additional $1,000,000.00. This request is to help additional families to have the opportunity to become First-time homebuyers. With the current programs that we implement whereby people must get a private lender mortgage, most of the approved applicants are between 60 to 80 percent of median. If the "As Available" funding is not ready available, the numbers in our application can basically be reduced to half in all categories for the NSP funding. Although the ( ;a City of Lubbock Community Development Department receives funding from HOME or CDBG Entitlement funds occasionally, they are more in the range of $50,000 to $150,000 per year. It would be the City of Lubbock, Community Development Department's hope that the Direct Allocation funds can be released quickly.
