WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock is experiencing flooding approaching a one
hundred year flood event.
WHEREAS, Mayor of the City of Lubbock has determined that extraordinary
measures must be taken to ensure the safety of its citizens and property; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Council approves incurring expenditures of up to
$500,000 from the General Fund (to be reimbursed by federal emergency funds) if
allowed for emergency expenditures.
SECTION 2. THAT an appropriate Proclamation of Disaster be issued.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock is experiencing flooding approaching a one
hundred year flood event.
WHEREAS, Mayor of the City of Lubbock has determined that extraordinary
measures must be taken to ensure the safety of its citizens and property; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a state of disaster is hereby declared for the City of
Lubbock, Texas; and
SECTION 2. THAT the City of Lubbock's Emergency Management Plan is
hereby implemented; and
SECTION 3. THAT the state of disaster shall continue until such time as seven
(7) days have passed from the issuance of this proclamation; it is rescinded or has been
continued with consent of the City Council of the City of Lubbock; and
SECTION 4. THAT this proclamation shall take effect immediately upon its
issuance and the City Manager of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed
to distribute this proclamation to all news media and ensure wide distribution of this
proclamation to the public.
