HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2005-R0029 - Purchase Order For Light Duty Trucks - Gene Messer Ford - 01_13_2005Resolution No. 2005-R0029 January 13, 2005 Item No. 48 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock solicited bids (ITB # 04-193-MA) for light duty trucks (herein so called) for use by the City of Lubbock; WHEREAS, Section 271.905 of the TExAs LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE provides that if the local government of a municipality with a population of 200,000 or less receives one or more bids from a bidder whose principal place of business is in the local government, and whose bid is within three percent (3%) of the lowest bid price received by the local government from a bidder who is not a resident of the local government, the local government may enter into a contract with either the lowest bidder, or the bidder whose principal place of business is in the local government, conditioned upon appropriate findings of the governing body; WHEREAS, Gene Messer Ford, with a principal place of business located at 6000 W. 19th, Lubbock, Texas, is located within the city limits of the City of Lubbock; WHEREAS, Gene Messer Ford submitted a bid to the City of Lubbock for a contract to supply the light duty trucks in accordance with the above -referenced ITB # 04-193-MA, said bid being in an amount that is within three percent (3%) of the lowest bid price received; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds that the bid submitted by Gene Messer Ford offers the City of Lubbock the best combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities for the City of Lubbock and its residents, including the employment of residents of the City of Lubbock and increased tax revenues to the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Purchase Order for light duty trucks between the City of Lubbock and Gene Messer Ford, and related documents. Said Purchase Order is attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein, and shall be included in the minutes of the City Council.
