HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2006-R0106 - Waive Rights To Apply For JABG - LPDJD Designated To Serve On JCEC - 03_08_2006Resolution No. 2006-R0106 March 8, 2006 Item No. 5.7 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, certain block grant funds in the amount of Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred Nineteen and No/100 Dollars ($12,719) (the "Funds") is designated for allocation to the City of Lubbock through the Criminal Justice division of the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock desires to waive their right to apply for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock designates Lubbock County as the recipient of the Funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock agrees to appoint one member to serve on the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition created by the County of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Council of the City of Lubbock hereby waives its right to apply for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant and designates Lubbock County as the recipient of the Funds. Be it further resolved that the Lieutenant of the City of Lubbock Police Department Juvenile Division is hereby designated to serve on the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition as created by the County of Lubbock, and that the County of Lubbock shall furnish periodic reports reflecting the usage of the said waived funds to the City of Lubbock by furnishing copies to the Lieutenant of the Juvenile Division. The applicant that is requesting CJD funding is responsible for obtaining the written authorization from each agency that chooses to waive their allocation. In addition, the applicant is responsible for forwarding this signed document to CJD via facsimile by April 3, 2006 at (512) 475-2440. CJD will not award any additional waived funds to the applicant organization until the waiver form is signed and received by CJD. PART I: WAIVER OF ALLOCATION 1. Or, if funds are waived to another agency, the above -named agency waiving funds understands that those funds may be used to provide juvenile accountability -based services to the waiving agency's target area.
