HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 101278H - New Retirement Age Policy - 10_12_1978KJ:hw RESOLUTION WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Lubbock feels that a more equitable retirement policy for employees should be established; and in addition, the Age Descrimination in Employment Act of 1967 has changed the compulsory retirement age from 65 to 70 years; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council hereby establish a new retirement age policy for all employees of the City of Lubbock, except those employee covered by Civil Service. The retirement date for all employees presently employed and employed in the future will be December 31 of the calendar year in which the employee reaches age seventy (70), except as provided above.
