RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, and other cities in the West Texas Distribution
System of Pioneer Natural Gas Company, have been given notice that application will
be made with all of these cities for an increase in the present gas rates; and
WHEREAS, the cities in the West Texas Distribution System question the need for
a base rate increase at this time in view of the cost of gas pass -through now in
effect; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interest of the
City of Lubbock and all of the West Texas cities involved to join together in a
common effort to study the proposed increase and determine if all or a portion of
such increase can be justified, with the expense of such study being shared by all
participating cities on a per gas meter basis; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City of Lubbock hereby agrees to participate with other cities in the
West Texas Distribution System of Pioneer Natural Gas Company named on the list
attached hereto to study and possibly protest any increase in the base gas rates
to such cities, and further, the City Council agrees to an assessment for the City
of Lubbock's portion of the expense of such study and protest, if any, of the pro-
posed gas rate increase.
