HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 082676K - Quit Claim Deed - LBK Cotton Oil Co - Original Town - 08_26_1976•r JWF:bsb RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit Claim Deed in favor of Lubbock Cotton Oil Company, a Texas Profit Corporation, attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. Passed by the City Council this 26th day of August 1976. ROY BASS, MAYOR ATTEST: a/ reva Phillips, City ecretary-Treasurer APPROVED AS TO FORM: red O, Senter, Jr., ty Attorney QUITCLAIM DEED THE STATE OF TEXAS § KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COUNTY OF LUBBOCK § THAT the CITY OF LUBBOCK, a Home Rule Municipality in the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE AND N0/100 ($1. 00) DOLLARS and other good and valuable consideration to it in hand paid by Lubbock Cotton Oil Company, a Texas Profit Corporation of Lubbock County, Texas, hereinafter called "Grantee", the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does hereby by these presents ABANDON, DISCLAIM, RELEASE, AND FOREVER QUIT CLAIM unto the said GRANTEE, all its right title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, described as follows, to -wit: A portion of 17th Street on the East side of Avenue A, said portion being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 222, Original Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE West along the North line of Block 222, Original Town of Lubbock a distance of 117. 5 feet to a point in the East right-of- way line of Avenue A, said point being 7. 50 feet East of the Northwest corner of said Block 222; THENCE North a distance of 75. 00 feet to a point in the South line of Block 206, Original Town of Lubbock, said point being 7. 5 feet East.of the Southwest corner of said Block 206; THENCE East along the South line of Block 206, Original Town of Lubbock a distance of 42. 5 feet; THENCE South 45° East a distance of 106. 07 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same premises together with all and singular the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto the said GRANTEE, its successors and assigns forever, so that neither the Grantor, City of Lubbock, its successors, or assigns, nor any persons claiming under it shall be any time hereinafter, have, claim or demand any right to the title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances or any part thereof.
