HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 070876H - Real Estate Acquisition - Right Of Way Dept - Quirt Avenue - 07_08_1976':lb A' RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, Texas, a Home Rule Municipality loca ad in Lubbock County, Texas, has determined and does hereby determine the ublic needs, safety, and welfare demands and creates a public necessity for .ie widening, constructing, reconstructing and expansion and improvement of ►uirt Avenue in said City in order to provide better access to the municipal irport of said City creating a need for additional right-of-way by said City to ccomplish such purposes, and this City Council of said City finds it to the est public interest and for public purposes and municipal purposes to proceec ,ith the acquisition of lands as needed for such purposes as aforesaid; NOW 'HEREFORE: IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the fee simple title to the following described real state located in Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired for public purposes and lunicipal purposes as set forth in the preamble hereof, to -wit: A parcel of land containing 0. 23 8 acre of land, more or less, out of a 1. 10 acre tract in the South half of the Southwest quarter of Section 8, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas. Said 1.10 acre tract was conveyed to Robert W. Berry by Arthur Lee Berry and wife, Hixie, by Deed dated September 1, 1971 and recorded in Volume 1287, Page 5, Deed Records, Lubbock County, Texas. Said 0. 238 acre tract is more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the West Boundary Line of Section 8, Block A, said point is also the Northwest Corner of said 1. 10 acre tract and bears South 880 4' 29" East, a distance of 5, 280.00 feet, thence South 1 ° 541 42" West, a distance of 4, 692. 60 feet from the Southwest Corner of Section 10, Block A; said point also being the common boundary line and the Southwest Corner of a tract of land owned by Rosa Ortega Griffis. THENCE South 88" 5' 18" East along the North Property Line of said 1. 10 acre tract, a distance of 72. 06 feet to a point; THENCE South 0° 11' 12" West, a distance of 140.06 feet to a point in the South Property Line of said 1. 10 acre tract; said South Property Line being the common boundary line with Joel A. Austin and wife, Sonja Austin. SECTION 2.
