WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, Texas, a Home Rule Municipality
acated in Lubbock County, Texas, has determined and does hereby deter-
zine the public needs, safety, and welfare demands and creates a public nec-
ssity for the widening, constructing, reconstructing and expansion and im-
rovement of Quirt Avenue in said City in order to provide better access to
.1e Municipal Airport of said City creating a need for additional Right -of -Way
y said City to accomplish such purposes, and this City Council of said City
Inds it to the best public interest and for public purposes and municipal pur-
oses to proceed with the acquisition of lands as needed for such purposes as
fore said; NOW THEREFORE:
IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the fee simple title to the following described
real estate located in Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired for
public purposes and municipal purposes as set forth in the Pre-
amble hereof, to -wit:
A parcel of land containing 5. 727 acres of land out of
Section 7, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas. Said Sec-
tion 7, Block A was conveyed to Lucy Riddle Ross,
Raleigh Ross, Mary Paula Greenlee and Joseph Mahoney
Greenlee, Jr. by Civil Minutes No. 99, 983 of the 98th
District Court of Travis County dated March 22, 1955
and filed for record in Volume 820, Pages 325 thru 330,
Deed Records of Travis County, Texas and also on rec-
ord in Volume 1268, Page 475, Deed Records, Lubbock
County, Texas. Said 5. 727 acre tract is more particular-
ly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Section 7, Block A,
said Northeast corner bears South 880 4' 29" East, a
distance of 5, 280.00 feet from the Southwest corner of
Section 10, Block A;
THENCE South 1 ° 541 42" West along the East line of
Section 7, Block A, a distance of 5, 307. 10 feet to the
Southeast corner of Section 7, Block A;
THENCE North 88 ° 3' 14" West along the South line of
Section 7, Block A, a distance of 30.00 feet to a point;

THENCE North 1* 541 42" East, a distance of 263. 68
feet to a point, the beginning of a 5, 674. 5780 foot
radius curve to the left, center of said 5, 674. 5780
foot radius curve bears North 88° 51 38" West;
THENCE around said 5, 674. 5780 foot radius curve,
an arc distance of 170.84 feet to a point, the end of
said curve;
THENCE North 0 ° 111 12" East, a distance of 827. 21
feet to a point, the beginning of a 5, 784. 5780 foot radius
curve to the right, center of said curve bears South 89
481 48" East, a distance of 5, 784. 5780 feet;
THENCE around said 5, 784. 5780 foot radius curve, an
arc distance of 174. 16 feet to a point, the end of said
curve;
THENCE North 10 542 42" East, a distance of 1, 989. 74
feet to a point, the beginning of a 5, 784. 5780 foot radius
curve to the right, center of said 5, 784. 5780 foot radius
curve bears South 88 ° 51 18" East, a distance of
5, 784. 5780 feet;
THENCE around said 5, 784. 5780 foot radius curve, an
arc distance of 164.90 feet to a point, the end of said
5, 784. 5780 foot radius curve;
THENCE North 31 321 42" East, a distance of 1, 237. 52
feet to a point, the beginning of a 5, 674. 5780 foot radius
curve to the left, center of said 5, 674. 5780 foot radius
curve bears North 86 ° 271 18" West, a distance of
5, 674. 5780 feet;
THENCE around said 5, 674. 5780 foot radius curve, an
arc distance of 160. 11 feet to a point, the end of said
curve;
THENCE North V 551 42" East, a distance of 319. 88
feet to a point in the North boundary line of Section 7,
Block A;

THENCE South 88 ° 4' 29" East along the North
boundary line of Section 7, Block A, a distance of
20.07 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, contain-
ing 5. 727 acres of which approximately 3. 229 acres
are in an existing road.
SECTION 2. That the owners of said land including STECK FARM
TRUST be offered through the Right -of -Way Department of the City
of Lubbock the amount of $11, 241.00, which is the amount appraised
as the value and total damages for the fee simple title and acquisi-
tion of said real estate hereinabove described for the purposes herein
stated, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock, located in
Lubbock County, Texas, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney of said City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and instructed
to institute condemnation (eminent domain) proceedings to acquire
the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for public
purposes and municipal purposes.
