Box 2000 Lubbock, TX 79457-0001 Dear Mr. McDougal: In compliance with the provisions of Section 6.03 of the Texas Property Tax Code I have received director nominations from voting units located within the Lubbock Central Appraisal District. Enclosed you will find a ballot with the names of those nominated for directors listed in alphabetical order. Each voting unit must vote in open meeting, report its vote by written resolution, and submit it to the chief appraiser before December 15, 2003. It is important that the aforesaid method of voting, reporting of votes, and submission of the votes to the chief appraiser be followed. Improper procedures employed in the voting process could invalidate the votes cast. The unit may cast all its votes for one candidate or may distribute the votes among any number of candidates named on the ballot. A voting unit may only cast its votes for a person timely nominated and named on the ballot. There is no provision for write-in candidates. Since we only have five nominees this time, those listed on the enclosed ballot will be your directors. Even so, I would appreciate the participation of all eligible units in the voting process. Before December 31, 1 will count the votes and officially declare elected the five candidates who received the largest vote totals. I am required to notify all taxing units and all the candidates of the election results before December 31, 2003. Additionally, I have enclosed another copy of the worksheet showing the calculation of the number of votes to which each taxing unit is entitled. Other details are contained in my letter to you of September 11, 2003. I appreciate your participation in the board of directors' selection process. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the process, please contact me at your convenience. Respectfully submitted, Q4 000, 1 1 Dave Kimbrough Enclosure cc: Tommy Gonzalez 1715 - 26th STREET P.O.
