Thomas To TDHPT Commission - 01_27_1977KJ:bsb RESOLUTION O/Z7I7J WHEREAS, Lubbock, the South Plains and all of West Texas are dependent upon the highways in Texas to furnish them communication, access to industry and business and closer working and recreation relationships with the rest of Texas and our adjoining states; and WHEREAS, this area is not presently represented on the Texas Highway and Public Transportation Commission; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT Governor Dolph Briscoe is hereby urged to appoint Oliver Thomas, of Lubbock, to fill the vacancy on the Texas Highway and Public Transportati Commission. Oliver Thomas has worked tirelessly to bring about highway improvements in the State of Texas and he has knowledge of transportation problems, the operation of the Texas highway and Public Transportation Department and the U.
