RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the MAYOR of the CITY OF LUBBOCK BE and is hereby
authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the CITY OF LUBBC
a CORRECTION QUITCLAIM DEED to the STATE OF TEXAS, changing the
legal description contained in a Quitclaim Deed from 320 acres to 54.561
acres to conform to limits of the State Highway Right -of -Way, in order to
correctly reflect the intentions of the parties thereto as a matter of public
record, attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the
Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and
be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail.
Passed by the City Council this t9 May of November 1975.

CORRECTION QUITCLAIM DEED
THE STATE OF TEXAS §
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK §
WHEREAS, a Quitclaim Deed executed by the City of Lubbock, Texas, in
favor of the State of Texas under date of February 13, 1964, and recorded at
Volume 978, Page 292 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, con-
tained an error in legal description as regards the real estate described therein
which should be corrected in order to change it from 320 acres unto 54.561
acres as hereinafter set forth; NOW THEREFORE:
For and in consideration of the premises, and in order to correct the
public records to more accurately reflect the intention of the parties, the
legal description contained in the Quitclaim Deed hereinabove described, which
now reads as follows (of record):
"A tract of land approximately 320 acres in area located
approximately 4 miles from the town of Lubbock and
being the East 320 acres, Survey No. 5, Block E, Lub-
bock County, Texas. "
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED AND CORRECTED TO READ
HEREAFTER. AS FOLLOWS:
"54.651 acres of land in three parcels, being out of and a
part of the Northeast one -quarter of Section 5, Block E,
Lubbock County, Texas, which Northeast one -quarter was
conveyed to Joe S. McIlhaney by deed dated February 18,
1944, of record in Volume 275, page 148, Deed Records of..
Lubbock County, Texas; which 54.651 acres of land is more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
TRACT "A"
BEGINNING at a point in the East boundary line of said sec-
tion, said point being 1665 feet South of the Northeast corner
of said section;
THENCE Southerly 300 feet along said East boundary line,
to a point;
THENCE South 890 57' West, 620.7 feet along a line paral-
lel to and 150 feet Southerly from the centerline of a pro-
posed freeway as established in the field by the Texas High-
way Department to a point;
THENCE South 800 29' West, 304. 1 feet, to a point;
THENCE 89° 57' West, 900 feet along aline parallel to and
200 feet Southerly from said centerline to the beginning of a
curve;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction along a circular curve
to the left, the center of the curve being South 00 03' East,
165 feet from the beginning of the curve, a distance of 226.8
feet, to a point;
THENCE South 11 0 12' West, 458.4 feet, to a point;

THENCE in a Southeasterly direction along a circular
curve to the left, the center of the curve being North 89°
57' East, 215 feet from the beginning of the curve, a dis-
tance of 213 feet, to a point;
THENCE South. 56° 48' East, 374. 1 feet, to a point;
THENCE South 16 ° 481 East, 454. 7 feet, to a point;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction along a circular
curve to the left, the center of the curve being North
730 12' East, 165 feet from the beginning of the curve,
a distance of 210.9 feet, to a point;
THENCE North 890 57' East, 900 feet along a line paral-
lel to and 200 feet Northerly from said centerline to a point;
THENCE South 800 35' East, 304. 1 feet, to a point;
THENCE North 890 57' East, 620.7 feet along a line paral-
lel to. and 150 feet Northerly from said centerline to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING and contains 40.109 acres.

BEGINNING at a point in the said North line of Parcel "A",
said point being 920.7 feet West and 1613.9 feet South of the
Northeast corner of said Northeast one -quarter;
THENCE South 890 57' West, 900 feet along said North line
to the -beginning of a curve;
THENCE continuing along said North line in a curve to the
Northwest, the center of the curve being North 00 03' West,
165 feet from the beginning of the curve, a distance of 210.9
feet to a point;
THENCE continuing along said line, North 16° 48' West,
190. 6 feet, to a point;
THENCE North 890 57' East, 1112.9 feet along a line parallel
to and 500 feet Northerly from the centerline, to a point;

THENCE South 00 03' East, 300 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING and contains 7.289 acres.
TRACT "C"
BEGINNING at a point in the said South line of Parcel "A",
said point being 920. 7 feet West and 2013.9 feet South of the
Northeast corner of said Northeast one -quarter;
THENCE South 890 57' West, 900 feet along said South line
to the beginning of a curve;
THENCE continuing along said South line in a curve to the
Southwest, the center of the curve being South 0° 03' East,
165 Feet from the beginning of a curve, a distance of 226.8
feet, to a point;
THENCE South 110 12' West, 170.5 feet along said line, to
a point;
THENCE North 89° 57' East, 1095. 1 feet along a line paral-
lel to and 500 feet Southerly from the centerline, to a point;
THENCE North 0° 03' West, 300 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING and contains 7.253 acres."
Said corrective description of 54.651 acres of land described in three par-
cels above being the same land described in Judgment in Condemnation proceed-
ings of record in Volume 817, Pages 177-184 inclusive of the Deed Records of
Lubbock County, Texas, reference to which record is hereby made for all perti-
nentpurposes.
The said Quitclaim Deed hereinabove described shall remain and be in full
force and effect as hereby amended, and as so hereby amended is hereby rati-
fied and confirmed.
