RESOLUTION !
WHEREAS:, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock finds that it is necess r
in the public interest to extend and widen 50th Street and further finds that it is
necessary to acquire and own in connection with such extension and widening of
said 50th Street the land hereinafter described which is necessary to construct
the',public improvement; and,
WHEREAS, Luther E. Guillot and wife, Mabel I. Guillot own the tract of land
needed for right of way to extend and widen said 50th Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that said lands have been appraised
in the amount of $1834. 8Z and further finds that such value and total damages to
theowners for the fee simple .title to said land to be fair and equitable; NOW
THEREFORE:
BEAT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT in order to extend and widen said 50th Street and to acquire other
lands to be used in the construction of such street that the fee simple title to the
following described land be acquired for the stated public purpose said lands
being described as follows: described and designated as Tracts A and B, to-wit:
TRACT "Alt
'an 0, —27 acre tract of land out of the Southeast 1/4 of Survey 8,
Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, said tract being a part of Block
37, Suburban Homes Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas.
-. BEGINNING at a point in the South line of Block 37, Suburban Homes
Addition, said point being 420 feet West and 20 feet North of the South-
east corner of said Survey 8, Block B;
THENCE East and parallel to the South line of Survey 8, Block B, a.
distance of 394. 1 feet to a point in the West right of way line of
Avenue "A";
THENCE North along said right of way line a distance of 28. 15 feet,
THENCE Southwesterly a distance of 395. 10 feet to the POINT AND
PLACE OF BEGINNING.
TRACT "B"
is I79_0 acre tract of land out of the Southeast 1/4 of Survey 8, Block
'B, Lubbock County, Texas, said tract being apart of Block 37, Subur-
ban Homes Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas.
BEGINNING at a }',Point in the South line of Block 37, Suburban Homes
Addition, said point being 660 feet West and 20 feet North of the South-
east corner of said Survey 8, Block B;
!THENCE North along the West line of said Block 37, Suburban Homes
Addition a distance of 640 feet;
THENCE East and parallel to the South line of said Block 37, Suburban
;Homes Addition a distance of 240 feet;
THENCE South 320 feet;
'THENCE West 212 feet

,THENCE South 320 feet to a point in the South line of said Block
37, Suburban Homes Addition being further described as a point
in the -No'ith right of way line of 50th Street;
THENCE West along said right of way line a distance of 28 feet to
the point and place of beginning.
And be it further resolved that the .owners, Luther E. Guillot and wife, Mabel I.
Guillot be offered the sum of $1834. 82 by the Right of Way Department of the City
of Lubbock as the amount appraised as the just and reasonable price and damages
for said lands and further that unless such offer is accepted forthwith that
condemnation proceedings b� instituted by the City Attorney who is hereby directe
and instructed to acquire the fee simple title in, under and over the tracts of
land hereinabove described for the purpose of extending, widening and construct-
ing 50th Street together with the full rights of ingress, egress and regress for
such purposes.
Passed by the Commission this 24th day of March 1960.
