HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 121274E - Appointees For Tax Board Of Equalization - 12_12_1974KJ:dw JOINT RESOLUTION /Z1Z74/4P7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock and the Board of Trustees of the Lubbock Independent School District have heretofore agreed to a Tax Board of Equalization appointed by each governing body and concurred in by the other body; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent to appoint members to the Tax Board of Equalization for the year 1975; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND 'I BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LUBBOCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, ACTING JOINTLY: THAT the following persons are hereby appointed to the Tax Board of Equalization for the year 1975: Connie Britt Lenin Juarez Allan Rosen Jerry Aker Otha Key Roger Battistoni Passed by the City Council on John R. PRESLDENT 4^ WHEREAS, the City and County of Lubbock, by Joint Resolution, created the Community Action Board; and WHEREAS, the City, County and School District recognize that the programs currently sponsored by the Community Action Board have been beneficial to the citizens of the City and County; and WHEREAS, the County has withdrawn from active participation on the Community Action Board; and WHEREAS, there has been uncertainty of adequate funding for the Community Action Agency by the Federal government and there has been low attendance at Board meetings, and these factors in turn have contributed to inefficiencies and ineffectiveness in the operations of the agency; and s WHEREAS, the City and School District would like to insure to the best of !their abilities that these worthwhile programs continue for the benefit of the ;citizens of our comrrunity; NOW THEREFORE: ;BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LUBBOCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ;DISTRICT: THAT the City of Lubbock and the Lubbock Independent School District hereby 9raw their active participation from the Community Action Board; THAT the Lubbock Independent School District hereby expresses a des ire o be responsible for the sponsorship and administration of the Neighborhood routh Corps Program and the In -School Head Start Program which it presently operates; and THAT the Lubbock -independent School Di strict hereby expresses that it is ,willing to sponsor the Day -Care Center Program under Head Start in the event ,:the Head Start Policy Board is unable to do so, but in any event it desires the ,Head Start Policy Board to continue administration of the Day -Care Program; and' �! THAT the City of Lubbock provide through existing City departments, Lcilities and programs, programs for Outreach, Planning, Equal Opportunity, Tanned Parenthood (if available), and any other new programs without being mited, but such as Senior Citizens Activities, Health and Medical Care and outh Activities; and 4 ATTEST: APPROVED:
