HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 022874G - Accept Paving Improvements - WD Turner Co - Logwo 10,790 - 02_28_1974RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS AND/or AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improve- ment ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with W. D. Turner Construction Company (G.W.O. 10,790) for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: 46th Street from its intersection with the West Lip Line of Avenue"A" to its intersection with a line 35.00 feet West of the West Property Line of Avenue "D" (north leg) known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 62 of Unit Number 2226. West k of Globe Avenue from its intersection with a line 4.50 feet South of South Property Line of alley North of 36th Street (West leg) to its inter- section with a line 15.00 feet North of North Property Line of 37th Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 63 of Unit Number 2226. Avenue "R" from its intersection with the South Lip Line of Clovis Road to its intersection with the North Lip Line of 3rd Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 64 of Unit Number 2226. Hartford Avenue from its intersection with the South Lip Line of 2nd Street to its intersection with aline 13.00 feet North of the North Property Line of 2nd Place known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 66 of Unit Number 2226. 6th Street from its intersection with a line 3.00 feet East of the East Property Line of Vicksburg Avenue to its intersection with a line 6.00 feet West of West Property Line of Toledo Avenue known and Aesignated as Sub -Unit Number 68 of Unit Number 2226. AND WHEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementio streets and/or avenues, have beeninspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract (G.W.O. 10,790). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned streets, and/or avenues be and the same are hereby accepted, and the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to direct payment of the City's portion of the cost. II. That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of the alleys, streets and/or avenues listed above and against the owners of such property in accor- dance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceeding with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied.
