HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 051573A - Request Meeting - TTU Board Of Regents - Mutual Traffic Problems - 05_15_1973R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS the extension of Indiana Avenue across the Texas Tech University campus would be a major and vital thoroughfare both for Texas, Tech University and the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS Texas Tech University, the City of Lubbock and the State ' Highway Department originally agreed on such extension; and WHEREAS time is of the essence an immediate determination of plans Is vital because of the urgency for building schedules, contracts and purchase of construction materials, the City Council of Lubbock respect- fully requests a called meeting with the Board of Regents of Texas Tech University to discuss our mutual traffic problems; and WE would request that this meeting be arranged as soon as possible, preferably before May 30, 1973. WHEREAS Texas Tech University, the City of Lubbock and the State Highway Department originally agreed on such extension; and WHEREAS time is of the essence and an immediate determination of the rea for your change in plans is vital because of the urgency for builcling schedules, contracts and purchase of construction materials; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT, the City Council of Lubbock respectfully requests a called meeting with thf Board of Regents of Texas Tech University to discuss our mutual traffic problems and to that end a called meeting be arranged as soon as possible, preferably before May 31, 1973.
