RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Commission of Lubbock, Texas has heretofore
authorized the Right-of-Way Agent for said City to make an offer to M. O.
Owens and wife, Lona Owens, or the true owners and all persons in interest,
the sum of $1, 250. 00 for the following described property in the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and further described by metes and bounds:
BEING the South 12-1/2 feet of Lots Twenty (20), Twenty-One
(21), Twenty-Two (22) and Twenty-Three (23) in Block Five
l� ,! f' (5), Flynn Place Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas; and,

t WHEREAS, on September 2, 1952 J. A. Maynard, as Agent for the City
of Lubbock, made such offer to M. O. Owens and to Lona Owens on September
7E 4t 10, 1952 for fee simple title to said tract of land, and the said M. O. Owens
-1 and wife, Lona Owens, refused to accept such offer, and:the City Commission
considered such offer to be fair and in all things reasonable, and it appears
C' 4 that any further effort to agree with the said M. O. Owens would be futile;
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Attorney BE, and he is hereby authorized and directed
to file condemnation proceedings against said tract of land hereinabove des-
cribed in the preamble to this 'resolution against M. O. Owens and wife,
Lona Owens, and all other persons having an interest in said property, to
acquire fee simple title, the same being required for the opening, extension
and widening of 34th Street between Avenue Q and Avenue H in the City of
Lubbock.
On motion of Commissioner Morrj s seconded by Commis-
sioner Dail j ; , the foregoing Resolution was passed by the follow-
ing vote of the City Commission, this the ltthday of September 1952;
