RESOLUTION
` WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City. Council that the enlargement of
Ithe Lubbock Regional Airport necessitates the acquisition of additional property R
!Airport purposes; and,
WHEREAS, it is neeessary to acquire for Airport purposes the fee simple title
Ito the land hereinafter described, owned by J. L. Thomas; and'
WHEREAS, the City Council has caused an appraisal to be made of said land an
the value and total damages, if any, to the owner, and all others, whose interest
may appear, for fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of
$ 34,450 and the Council finds such amount to be fLr and equitable;
,p NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF L'UBBOCK:
THAT the City of Lubbock acquire for Airport purposes, the fee simple title to
the land lying and being situated in Lubbock County, Texas, and'more particularly
described on the field notes attached hereto and made a part hereof,
THAT the owner, J. L. Thomas, and all others, if any, whose interest may
appear, be offered through the Right -of -Way Department the amount appraised as
the value and total damages, if any, for the fee simple title and !acquisition of said
land for the purposes herein stated, for the use and benefit of tale City of Lubbock
and unless accepted forthwith, the City Attorney is hereby authdrized and instruct(
to institute condemnation proceedings for and on behalf of the C ty of Lubbock to
acquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for Airport
purposes.
Passed by the City Council this 13th day of July 1972.
