A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE RUN OFF ELECTION HELD ON MAY 2, 1972
BE IT REMEMBERED THAT on the 3rd day of May, 1972, the City Council
of the City of Lubbock met at 1:00 o'clock p. m. in special session in com-
pliance with the charter provision, at the regular meeting place of the Coun-
cil in the City Hall, in the City of Lubbock, with the following members
present to -wit:

it is unanimousl carried t at the returns of the run-off election, held May
2, 1972, for the elet Lion of a Mayor and two (2) Councilmen for terms as
provided by law, be opened and canvassed, and the results thereof declared
therefrom; and said returns having been duly canvassed, it is found that the
votes for the various candidates are as follows:

Morris W. Turner
CANDIDATES FOR COUNCILMAN,
PLACE NO. 2:
Harvie M. Pruitt
Carolyn Jordan
CANDIDATES FOR COUNCILMAN,
PLACE NO. 4:

Dr. Bryce Campbell 14,743
And it further appearing that said election was duly held as provided by law
and that Morris W. Turner received a majority of the votes case for the
office of Mayor; that Carolyn Jordan received a majority of the votes
cast for the office of Councilman Place No. 2; that Dr. Bryce Campbell
received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Councilman Place No.
4; and that such persons receiving such majority of votes was duly elected.

by the qualified voters of the City of Lubbock;
IT IS THEREFORE FOUND, DECLARED AND CERTIFIED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT Morris W. Turner
was duly elected Mayor of the City of Lubbock; that Carolyn Jordan
was duly elected Councilman Place No. 2; that Dr. Bryce Campbell
was duly elected Councilman Place No. 4 in the run-off election held on
May 2, 1972.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON MOTION OF Councilman Hollingsworth
seconded byCouncilman Turner this 3rd day of May, 1972, by the following
vote:
