Senter, Jr., City)Wrney SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION ,(TEST 11OLE.BORING) AGREEMENT MEMORIAL CIVIC CENTER This Agreement entered into this day between the CITY OF LUBBOCK and LUBBOCK LABS: WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, the CITY OF LUBBOCK, upon request of the Architects for the Memorial Civic Center, has need for subsurface investigation of the site for the Memorial Civic Center and by this Agreement does hereby engage the services of LUBBOCK LABS to perform test hole borings and furnish the re- quired information about such tests, . to be furnished upon the conditions and for the compensation set forth herein: (1) A total of twenty-seven (27) test borings shall be made at the loca- tions as shown upon the partial site plan attached hereto and made a part hereof. (2) Test borings shall be made to a depth of thirty (30) feet with the exception of test holes No. 15, No. 19 and No, 21, which shall be taken to a depth of ten (10) feet, Samples taken from such test borings and the in- formation furnished in the reports following such tests shall be in accord- ance with the lbtters dated April 5, 1972, and April 10, 1972, from the Architects Group to Mr. Al Couch and such letters are attached hereto and made a part hereof. The tests shall be commenced as soon as possible upon the execution of this Agreement and such tests shall be completed and the reports made in a prompt and orderly manner. (3) LUBBOCK LABS shall furnish equipment, material and personnel necessary to perform the services herein and shall maintain insurance coverage of such equipment and personnel and hold the CITY OF LUBBOCK harmless from all activities herein. (4) The CITY OF LUBBOCK shall pay to LUBBOCK LABS for the services to be performed under this Agreement the following compensation: drilling of test holes and sampling shall be compensated at the rate of $5, 00 per foot. Laboratory testing shall be compensated on a unit price basis depending upon the work required to be done. The testing fee is estimated at $200. 00 - $300. 00. The engineering fee shall be ten per cent (10%) of the gross which shall mean a total of the drilling, sampling and lab testing fees. APPROVED -AS TO FORM: red 0. Box 2000 Lubbock, Texas 79408 Dear Mr. Couch: 1617 BROADWAY / SUITE 3 / LUBBOCK, TEXAS 79401 /`PHONE (806) 763-4109 RE: Memorial Civic Center Foundation Investigation (Ref: Ltr. dated April 5) Please revise the information pertaining to sub -surface investigations requested in our letter dated April 5, 1972, in accordance with the enclosed Partial Site Plan shown to be revised on April 10, 1972. The following revisions have been made in the requested information: 1. Test holes #18 and #20 have been eliminated (a total of twenty - seven (27) test borings are now required in lieu of the twenty - nine (29) on inally requested). 2. Test holes #15, #19, and #21 ?three holes) need only to be taken to a depth of ten (10) feet, in lieu of the thirty (30) feet originally requested (all remaining holes must be to a depth of thirty (30) feet). 3. Reposition test holes #24 and #25 (at Central Plant) as indicated on the drawing. Excepting the three revisions outlined above, the remainder of the information requested previously is unchanged.
