On this the 9th day of 6eptember, 1937, the City Commission
of the City of Lubbock, T exas,met in regular session with the following
members of said Commission present: Ross Edwards, Mayor;
A . A. Richardson and J. A. Fortenberry, Commissioners; Lavenia Williams,
City Secretary; W. H. Rodgers, City Manager, and Durwood H. Bradley,
City Attorney, with the following member absent: W. u. McMillan,
There being a quorum present, the following, among other business,was trans-
acted to-wit:
Commissioner Fortenberry offered for consideration
and passage a resolution. The Resolution was read in full by the City
Secretary. Motion was made by Commissioner Fortenberry that
the City, by Resolution, under authority granted in Section 9 of ordin-
ance 564 , designate and establish certain loading zones. The
motion was seconded by Commissioner Richardson , and the motion
carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission present . The Resolution
passed reads as follows:
WHEREAS, in pursuance to the provision of Sec. 9 of Ordin-
ance No. 564 , it is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Lubbock that it is necessary for the conduct of bus ine ss within
said City that the following loading spaces or loading zones be designated,
established and marked as such:
A space marked on the curb with red paint and stenciled
thereon the words "Loading zone" is hereby created, designated and es
tablished at 1214 Broadway, 1002 Broadway, 1004 Main Street, 1104
