RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock, along with all responsible
citizens of the State of Texas, is concerned about the increase in the number of
drunk drivers on our streets and highways and the resulting increase in accidents
and deaths which they cause; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 68 as proposed in the Texas legislature is designed to
presume that the drinking driver gives his consent to chemical tests and further
states that in the event the driver is arrested and refuses to taiae_'4uch, test, his
operator's license shall be suspended; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock does hereby express its support
of Senate Bill 68 and wishes to convey its feelings to members of the Lubbock
delegation of the Texas legislature and to all public officials involved in this
legislation and urge that they give their support and vote in favor of this Bill.
