WHEREAS, the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority, as authorized
by the Legislature of the State of Texas, has operated on a budget year beginning
January 1 and ending December 31; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of such Authority has`- determined that
a more efficient operation would be obtained by amending the budget year to
coincide with the fiscal year used by most of the cities which are members of
such Authority; and,
WHEREAS, legislative approval has been secured for such change and the
remaining approval to be secured is that of the member cities; NOW THERE-
FORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Council hereby approves the act of the Board of Directors
of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority in changing the budget year to
begin on October 1 and end on September 30; and the City Council hereby authorize
and directs the Mayor of the City of Lubbock to execute for and on behalf of the
City of Lubbock an amendment to the contract between the Canadian River Muni-
cipal Water Authority and the City of Lubbock stating that the fiscal year or
budget year shall commence on October 1 and end the following September 30; a
copy of such amendment is attached hereto, which shall be spread upon the
minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall con-
stitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail.
