HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 5580 - Quitclaim Deed - Don Houston Douglas - Myrtle Slaton Addition - 08_14_1997RESOLUTION NO. 5580 Item #24 August 14, 1997 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quitclaim Deed in favor of Don Houston Douglas, attached hereto and which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. Passed by the City Council this 14th day of August , 1997. WINDY siTfbN,MAYOR ATTEST:. t� kavtWd Darnell, City Secretary APPROVED AS TO CONTENT: Ed Bucy, Right-of-Wa Agent APPROVED AS TO FORM: old Willard, Assistant City Attorney HW:dk1ccdocs/ douglas.res July 21, 1997 RESOLUTION NO.5580 Item #24 August 14, 1997 QUITCLAIM DEED THE STATE OF TEXAS KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COUNTY OF LUBBOCK THAT the CITY OF LUBBOCK, a Home Rule Municipality in the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, hereinafter called "GRANTOR," for and in consideration of the sum of TEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($10.00) and other good and valuable consideration to GRANTOR in hand paid by DON HOUSTON DOUGLAS, hereinafter called "GRANTEE," the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does hereby by these presents ABANDON, DISCLAIM, RELEASE and FOREVER QUITCLAIM unto the said GRANTEE, all of GRANTOR'S rights, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, described as follows, to -wit: The East 5 feet of Lot 17 and that portion of Lot 18, Block 30, Myrtle Slaton Addition Number 5, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, lying West of the proposed West right of way line of Indiana Avenue and further described as follows: BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod set at the Northwest comer of said East 5 feet for the Northwest corner of this tract; Thence North 89'59' 10" East, along the North line of said Lots 17 and 18, a distance of 50.00 feet to a point in said right of way line for the Northeast comer of this tract; Thence South 0°00'00" East, along said right of way line, a distance of 115.00 feet to a point in the South line of said Lots 17 and 18 for the Southeast corner of this tract; Thence South 89'59' 10" West, along said South line, a distance of 50.00 feet to a 1 /2" iron rod set at the Southwest comer of said East 5 feet for the Southwest corner of this tract; Thence North 0°00'00" East, along the West line of said East 5 feet, a distance of 115.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same premises together with all and singular the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto the said GRANTEE, his heirs and assigns forever, so that neither the GRANTOR, its successors or assigns, nor any persons claiming under GRANTOR shall at any time hereafter have, claim or demand any right to the title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances or any part thereof.
