HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2004-R0274 - Resolution Accepting Improvements On Paving Assessment Program - 06/09/2004RESOLUTION Resolution No. 2004-R0274 June 9. 2004 Item No. 35 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON THE 2001 PAVING ASSESSMENT PROGRAM LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street and alley improvement ordinances and resolutions for the making and construction of paving improvements in said City, including the following: 1. East-West alley between 1 oth Street and 11th Street from Salem Avenue east to Quaker Avenue, Unit Number A-462-42 2. East-West alley between 56th Street and 57th Street from Memphis west to Nashville Avenue, Unit Number A-462-43 3. U-shaped alley between g5th Street and 86th Street/Oxford from g5th Street to Oxford Avenue, Unit Number A-462-44 4. U-shaped alley between 77th Street/York A venue and 7gth Street/ Zoar A venue from Slide Road to 79th Street, Unit Number A-462- 45 5. East-West Alley between gth Street and 9th Street from Salisbury Avenue east to Salem Avenue, Unit Number A-462-46 6. 25th Street from Milwaukee Avenue east to Lasalle Avenue, Unit Number 2336-001 7. 26th Street from Milwaukee Avenue east to Kewanee Avenue, Unit Number 2336-002 WHEREAS, the construction of the above improvements on the above-mentioned streets and alleys were performed under the supervision of the City Engineer, and said improvements have been completed and have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with City specifications and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 24 of the City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the MAYOR and City Secretary BE and are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of the streets and alleys listed above and against the owner(s) of such properties in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said Contract and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied. SECTION 2. THAT this resolution authorizes the City Engineer to make final payment to the contractor. SECTION 3. THAT this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
