HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 5465 - Cooperative Agreement - Lubbock Arts Alliance Inc - Economic Impact Study - 04_10_1997RESOLUTION NO. 5465 Item #36 April 10, 1997 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Cooperative Agreement, attached herewith, by and between the City of Lubbock and Lubbock Arts Alliance, Inc., and any associated documents, which Agreement shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. Vandiver, First Assistant City Attorney da/ccdocs/ftarts. res April 1, 1997 i RESOLUTION`'N0. 5465 Item #36 April 10, 1997 THE STATE OF TEXAS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT COUNTY OF LUBBOCK § THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into by and between the City of Lubbock, Texas, (hereinafter called "City") and the Lubbock Arts Alliance, Inc., (hereinafter called "LAA"), all acting herein by and through their duly authorized officers and officials. WHEREAS, it is recognized that the arts and cultural climate of a city contribute to the desirability of a city by attracting new residents and new businesses to the area and thus has an impact on the local economy; and WHEREAS, LAA plans to conduct an economic impact study of the level of impact that the arts are having on the Lubbock economy; NOW THEREFORE: The parties hereto mutually agree that financial assistance shall be provided by the City to LAA and accepted by LAA for the purpose of conducting an economic impact study of the level of impact that the arts are having on the Lubbock economy upon the following terms and conditions, to -wit: 1. CONTRIBUTION. The City shall contribute a total sum of $1,850.00 to LAA to be used in conjunction with this project. 2. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This instrument constitutes the entire Agreement between the parties hereto, and this instrument may be altered, changed or amended only by written agreement of the parties. 3. TERM. In the event that LAA has not completed the economic impact study within six months of the signing of this Agreement, this Agreement shall become null and void and of no effect and the amount of $1,850.00 shall be reimbursed to the City. 4. STUDY. A copy of the completed economic impact study shall be filed with the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock upon completion. i EXECUTED this day of , 1997, in Lubbock, Texas.
