RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council is gravely concerned over the fact
that 21 of our citizens have died in traffic accidents and more than 1, 000
have suffered injuries in traffic accidents thus far this year; and
WHEREAS, such loss is needless and must be combated, and
WHEREAS, the Lubbock Citizens Traffic Commission has pledged
an all-out effort to combat this problem; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the support of the. City Council is unanimously given to the
Citizens Traffic Commissionts all-out war on traffic accidents and, fur-
ther, it is hereby requested that all official agencies having traffic respon-
sibilities cooperate to the fullest extent in this endeavor, and, be it fur-
ther resolved, a maximum effort is called for in (1) selective enforcement,
(2) corrective and preventive engineering, (3) conviction of persons guilty
of traffic violations and (4) public education.

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE SUPPORT AND INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK IN RELATION TO THE CITIZENS TRAFFIC COIARAISSIONIS
SUSTAINING PROGRAM OF "ALL-OUT WAR" Oil TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS.
WHEREAS, 21 of our citizens have died in traffic accidents and more
than 1,000 have suffered injuries thus far this year, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock is gravely concerned
over this needless waste, and
WHEREAS, the Lubbock. Citizens Traffic Commission has pledged an all-
out effort to combat this problem, NOW THEREFORE: .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
That we unanimously support the efforts of the Citizens Traffic
Commission in an all-out war on traffic accidents, and
BE IT RESOLVED:
That the City Council of the City of Lubbock requests that all official
agencies having traffic responsibilities cooperate to the fullest extent.
in this endeavor, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the City Council of the City of Lubbock call for a maximum effort
of 1) selective enforcement, 2) corrective and preventive engineering, 3) con-
viction of persons guilty of traffic violations and 4) public education.
