RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has experienced substantial increases in
population in the years 1966 and 1967, and the City Council desires to officially
establish the latest population estimate, and
WHEREAS, the population figure of the City of Lubbock is of great concern
and pride to the inhabitants of the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the estimated figure of ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY THOUSAND AND
TWENTY --FIVE (170, 025) as the population for the City of Lubbock made by the
Planning Department of the City of Lubbock as of October, 51 1967, based on an.
accepted formula for determining populations, is hereby officially adopted by the
Governing Body of the City of Lubbock to be used where population estimates are
permitted in lieu of preceding Federal Census Population figures.
Passed by the City Council this 12th day of October , 1967.
