RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock by resolution passed by its City
Council on the 21st day of December, 1966, expressed a desire to receive
financial assistance from the State of Texas and the Federal Government
in order to acquire a certain parcel of land for certain outdoor recreation
use; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that in order to secure the apprc
of the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation such resolution shoul&-be amended to
read as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City of Lubbock, a Home -Rule Municipal
Corporation existing by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas
hereby certifies that it is eligible to receive assistance under
Article 6081r, Vernon=s Annotated Texas Statutes.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Paragraph 6600. 3. 6., State of Texas
Outdoor Recreation Grants -In -Aid Manual, the Director of Parks
and Recreation of the City of Lubbock is hereby designated as
the official with authority to represent and act for the City of
Lubbock in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
for the project authorized herein; and the Director of Finance
of the City of Lubbock is hereby designated as the official to receive
and disburse federal funds for such project.
SECTION 3. The Director of Finance of the City of Lubbock is
hereby authorized to certify on a form to be prepared by the City
Attorney that the City has available sufficient funds to meet fta
share of the cost of the project hereinafter authorized.
SECTION 4. The Director of Parks and Recreation of the City
of Lubbock is hereby authorized to apply to the State Parks and
Wildlife Department for financial assistance for the project herein-
after authorized.
SECTION 5. Pursuant to the foregoing provisions, the City of
Lubbock hereby agrees to use a parcel of land in Sections 13 and
17, Block A, LubbockCounty, Texas,, which parcel is further
identified as outlined on a map attached hereto and made a part
hereof for all purposes, for public outdoor recreation, and the City
of Lubbock further agrees to operate and maintain the said tract
at its own expense; provided, however that the City of Lubbock
reserves the right to withdraw minerals, oil, and water from under
the surface of said land, as long as such uses do not interfere with
the primary use of said land for public outdoor recreation.
