Add - 12_08_1966R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock has .heretofore determined and new finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on College3Avenue in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend, straighten and widen said College Avenue; and, WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter described; and, WHEREAS, Doyle W. McLeod and Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $9,500.00 and the Council finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public street known and designated College Avenue which land is more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the West line of Lot 18, Block 1, Ellwood Place, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said point being 68.57 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Lot 18; THENCE North 900010011\zast a distance of 44.75 feet; THENCE North along a line parallel to and 7 feet East of the West line of Lot 18 a distance of 64.99 feet to a point of curvature; THENCE around a curve to the right having a radius of 25 feet, delta angle of 9015711911, tangent lengths of 25.42 feet, and a curve distance 39.69 feet to a point of tangency in the South right 8f way line of 19th Street; THENCE North 89002141/0 West along the South right of way line of 19th Street a distance of 32.42 feet to a point in the West line of Lot 18; THENCE South along the West line of Lot 18 a distance of 134.73 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. THAT the owners of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart- ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock, -and unless accepted forthwith the City Attorn( is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation proceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to acquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
