HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2266 - Approve Design - HDR Infrastructure - Brownfield Expressway Corridor Plan - 03_13_1986Resolution #2266 March 13, 1986 Agenda Item #10 LJM:cl RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Lubbock Urban Transportation Plan is the official document for guiding development of expressway and thoroughfare improvements in the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS, the Lubbock Urban Transportation Plan continues to indicate the need for an expressway corridor along the Brownfield Highway from Southwest Loop 289 to 4th Street and along 4th Street to the intersection with Interstate Highway 27; and WHEREAS, recent consulting engineering studies reconfirmed the need for this expressway corridor; and WHEREAS, cooperative studies between the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, Texas Tech University, the City of Lubbock, and consultant engineers have resulted in an acceptable general plan for this expressway corridor, NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council endorses and approves the Brownfield Expressway Corridor Plan dated March 5, 1986, prepared by the firm of H.D.R. Infrastructure Inc. of Dallas, Texas, and further described as a four -lane expressway with grade separation from Southwest Loop 289 to 19th Street, and a four -lane depressed section from 19th Street to 4th Street and along 4th Street to a point east of University Avenue; and eastward along a 3rd Street/4th Street corridor to the inter- section with Interstate Highway 27, which said plan is available in the office of the Director of Transportation for the City of Lubbock, Texas.
