WHEREAS., present data processing and related equipment utilized by
the City has no capacity for expanded use; and,
WHEREAS, the staff, after extensive investigation, has recommended
updating the present system by addition of a computer; and,
WHEREAS,, the City Council finds that the IBM System 360/Model 30
is the most aduanced and flexible computer on the rn.arket; and,
WHEREAS,, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interests
of the City to secure such computer at the earliest possible date; NOW, THERE-
FORE,,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1, THAT the City Manager BE and IS HEREBY authorized
and directed to sign such instruments approved by the City Attorney which
are necessary to lea--e an IBM System 360/ Model 30 computer.
Passed by the City Council this 27th day of October , 1966.
