HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 102766A - Amendment To Citizens Advisory Committee - 10_27_1966 1 r f 10 L; RESOLUTION ra A RESOLUTION AMENDING A RESOLUTION CREATING A COMMITTEE j TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,' WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Citizens Advisory Com- mittee of the City of Lubbock contributes a valuable and useful service to the City of Lubbock as a whole; and, WHEREAS, it is felt by the City Council that in order to enable the Citi- zens Advisory Committee to operate at its full capabilities, it is necessary to provide a greater continuity of membership; and, WHEREAS, in order to meet this need, a more definite criteria must be established so that this continuity may be achieved; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY (DUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT, that part of the Resolution designating the organizations, asso- ciations, groups, agencies and enterpr*es comprising the Citizens Advisory Committee of the City of Lubbock be and is hereby amended as follows: THAT in order to secure citizen participation which is community wide and representative in scope, the following individuals be and are hereby solicited, appointed and commissioned to serve on the Citizens Advisory Com- mittee of the City of Lubbock; the Chairman, of the following Boards and Com- missions serving in the City of Lubbock, subject to their individual terms as members of such Boards and Commissions, to-wit: Airport Board, Airport Zoning Board, Auditorhim-Coliseum Operational Board & Civic Lubbock, Inc. , Advisory Board of Directors of Municipal Utilities, Board of Adjustment-Zoning, Board of City Development, Board of Electrical Examiners, Board of Examiners and Appeals-Building, Canadian River Municipal Water Authority, Cemetery Board, Child Welfare Board, City-County Heal th Board, City-County Welfare Board, Civil Service Commission, Lubbock Development Board, Housing Authority Board, Housing Standards Commission, Library Board, Park & Recreation Commission, Planning & Zoning Commistlon, Official Census Tract Committee, Plumbing Board, Southeast Lubbock Development Board, Urban Renewal Agency, Water Resources Board, Youth Council, Tax Board of Equalization, Building Code Committee; the President and immediate past President of the following civic clubs and professional associations having a set term for elected officers, subject to the individual tenure of office of such organization, association, or group, to-wit: American.Busiriess Club- Downtown, American Business Club- Monterey, American Institute of Architects, Arnett Benson Community Development Association, Council of Garden Cf'ubs, Exchange Club, Home Builders Association, Junior League of Lubbock, kiwanis Club-Hub City, Kiwanis Club-Lubbock, Kiwanis Club-Southwest, League of United Latin American Citizens, League of Women Voters, Lions Club-Industrial Lubboc , Lions Club--Hu;b:, Lions Club-Lubbock, Lions Club-South Plains, Lions Club- Southwest, Lubbock Bar Association, Lubbock Central Labor Union, Lubbock Civitan Club, Lubbock Clearing House Association, Lubbock Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lubbock Women's Club, Ments Civic and Social C'I'ub, (Colored) Ministerial Association, Mortgage Bankexx;s Association, Optimist Club Hill- crest, Optimist Club-Lubbock, Optimist Club, Monterey, Parent Teachers Association, Real Estate Board, Rotary Club- Lubbock,R.otary Club-Southwest Lubbock, Texas Society of Professional Engineers, United Civic Council(Colored) as well as the Directors, executive officer or designee of the following agencies and enterprises, to-wit: Avalanche Journal, Federal Housing Administration, KCBD Radio & TV, KLBK Radio & TV, KSEL Radio, KFYO Radio, Lubbock Christian College, Lubbock Development Corporation, School Board, Texas Highway Department, Texas Technological College. THAT the permanent Chairmen of the Citizens Advisory Committee shall be designated by the Mayor, and that the permanent Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee shall also serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee. BE it further resolved that the scope of responsibilities and functions of the Citizens Advisory Committee, as well as the policies stated in the Reso- lution heretofore adopted in January 1963, be and the same are hereby ratified :. and confirmed.
