RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, W. D. "Dub" Rogers was a major contributor of his time,
talents, and energies, and was an unselfish advocate for the betterment of
the City of Lubbock and the entire Llano Estacado; and
WHEREAS, Dub Rogers was a true pioneer in the broadcasting industry,
developing and implementing many innovations and regional marketing
techniques early in the history of his industry; and
WHEREAS, in 1952, Dub Rogers opened the first Lubbock television
station with the distinction of being the only television station operating
between Fort Worth and Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, Dub Rogers was one of Lubbock's most energetic and
progressive City Mayors serving from 1966 until 1970, and providing
leadership and vision to the community;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT this City Council recognizes the tremendous
