HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 4257 - Adopts Amended Policy Statement - DBE_SBE Program - 09_09_1993Resolution No. 4257 September 9, 1993 Item #31 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to be in the public interest to ensure that disadvantaged businesses will have an equal opportunity to compete for City of Lubbock contracts for construction, profes- sional services, purchases of equipment and supplies and all other services required by the City; and WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 226 of the 73rd Legislature, requires municipalities in making an expenditure of more than $3,000 but less than $15,000 to contact at least two disadvantaged businesses on a rotating basis; and WHEREAS, it has been vantaged businesses on all ensure equal opportunity .thereby promote employment FORE: City of Lubbock policy since 1980 to contact disad- City of Lubbock contracts, regardless of amount to to participate for disadvantaged businesses and opportunities for all Lubbock citizens; NOW THERE - BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby adopts as its policy the amended Policy Statement entitled City of Lubbock DBE/SBE Program included within the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program attached hereto; and THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock said Policy Statement and any amendments thereto; and the and THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock or his designee shall be Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Liaison Officer for the City of Lubbock shall have authority to i mpl emen�ttt-is`policy.
