HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 012066C - Adopt Plans_Specs. - City Engineer - GWO 10502, 2906, & 2907 - 01_20_1966 GWO 10502 s-- GWO 2906 GWO 2907 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS. WHEREAS, the City Council on January 6, 1966 and on January 20, 1966 passed a resolution providing for the improvements of a portion of streets, highway avenues and/or alleys in the City of Lubbock, Texas, and along the boundaries of said city, to be done under Work Order No. 10502, 2906 and 2907, and directing preparation of plans and specifications covering the streets, highways, avenues and/or alleys as named in said resolution, and, WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared '.and filed with the City plans and specifications for such improvements, and same have been examined; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK. TEXAS: THAT, the plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer covering improvements contemplated by said resolutions, BE, and the same are hereby approved and the Mayor and City Secretary are hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids in accordance with the "Notice to Bidders" made a part of said specifica- tions covering the quantities of materials needed for said paving program as therein set out. Senter, Jr. , y Attorney NOTICE TO BIDDERS G.W.O. 10502 G.W.O. 2906 G.W.O. 2907 Sealed proposals addressed to the City Council of Lubbock, Texas will be received at the office of the City Engineer until 2:00 p.m. February-6;911.966, for the construction of approximately 396,000 S.Y. of asphalt paving, 166,000 L.F. of curb and gutter, 31,700 S.Y. of concrete flat work, 900 L.F. of railroad crossing and related construction for the City of Lubbock, Texas. The above described work will be paid for partially in cash and partially in valid assessment certificates. The City Council will consider the bids on February 10, 1966 at the City Hall, subject to the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. Bids may not be withdrawn after they are submitted. Bidders are required to submit a cashier's or certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid and the successful bidder shall provide bond in the full amount of the contract price executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Texas.
