RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in July 1992, representatives of the Lubbock Land Company
and the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Lubbock discussed
the feasibility of the development by the Company of a 2k-acre park in an
area known as the Regal Park Addition to the City of Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, Lubbock Land Company has agreed to develop and maintain the
2k-acre park site until October 1, 1994, and then dedicate the site as
public park property if the City will assume responsibility for maintenance
of the land and improvements; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements for the park site include, among
other things, a jogging track, shelter, landscaping, irrigation system,
benches and security lighting; and
WHEREAS, the cost of such improvements, which would be borne entirely
by Lubbock Land Company, is estimated to be around $1OO,OOO; and
WHEREAS, the 1991 Park Development Plan indicates there is a
deficiency in the amount of park land in the quadrant of the City where the
2k-acre park would be developed; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Council hereby agrees to accept and maintain as public park
property the land and improvements hereinabove generally described when
completed and dedicated as park pro y the Lubbock Land Company.
