HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 062465F - Quit Claim - COL Land Described In Ordinance No. 4672 - LISD - 06/24/1965 FOS:BW RESOLUTION WHEREAS, heretofore by Ordinance No. 4672, finally passed and enacted on April 22, 1965, that certain property described therein by metes and t bounds out of'the Northeast 1/4 of Section 11, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, and being the 'same property as described in Street Dedication Deeds from Luella McCoy, a widow, recorded in Volume 786, page 216, Wilma Webster, Maxine Stramler and jLuella McCoy, as Trustees for the McCoy Trust, recorded in Volume 786, page 181 and the Lubbock Independent School,District, recorded in Volume 786, page 199, all in Lubbock County Deed Records, was abandoned for all public purposes and public use; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that all said land was never accepted and used for street purposes; and, WHEREAS, it appears that the Lubbock Independent School District, a municipal corporation, as owner of the abutting property desires to acquire same for the use of�the public; and, WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the public that the City of Lubbock Quitclaim any and all interest it might have in and to the property described in Gaid Ordinance No. 4672 to which ordinance reference is here made and the same'�made a part hereof for any and all necessary purposes, NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Lubbock Quitclaim its right, title and interest in and to all that certain land described in Ordinance No. 4672 to the Lubbock Independen School District, a municipal corporation, and that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Quitclaim Deed for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock conveying all right, title and interest in and to that parcel of land described in;said Ordinance to the Lubbock Independent School District, a municipal corporation. Passed by the City Council this 24th day of June 1965.
