CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A GOVERNMENT BUILDING AND EXECUTIVE AIR TERM[- Ii NAL TO HOUSE THE UNITED STATES WEATHER BUREAU AND FEDERAL AVIATION AGENCY i (AGENCIES OF THE U. S. GOVERNMENT) AND A BUSINESS AIRCRAFT TERMINAL, AND; 1, WHEREAS, CHAPTER 3, ,ARTICLE I, SECTION 3-5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK REQUIRES THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO, BY RESOLUTION, AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF LEASE AGREEMENTS FOR PERIODS EXCEEDING FIVE (5) YEARS AND; WHEREAS# THE AIRPORT BOARD OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK HAS REPORTED TO THE a GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS THE COMPLETION OF NEGOTIATIONS CONTEMPLATING A LEASE OF THE GOVERNMENT AREAS OF THE AFORESAID BUILDING FOR A TERM, INCLUDING OPTIONS, OF NOT TO EXCEED FIFTEEN (15) YEARS AT A RENTAL RATE OF 12-L PER ANNUM OF THE GROSS COST OF THE GOVERNMENT SECTION OF THE BUILDING, AND; WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS APPROVES OF THE ACTION TAKEN BY THE AIRPORT BOARD; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: THAT THE AIRPORT BOARD IS AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE RENTAL OF THE GOVERNMENT PORTION OF THE BUILDING AS HEREIN SET OUT FOR A TERM, INCLUDING OPTIONS, OF NOT TO EXCEED FIFTEEN ( 15) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF COM— PLETION OF SAID BUILDING AND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL EXPRESSLY APPROVES A MAXI— MUM FIFTEEN ( I5) YEAR TERM AS REQUIRED BY CHAPTER 32 SECTION 3-5 OF THE-CODE, OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS.
