Purtell - GWO 10400 Teak Avenue - 10_08_1964 DOT", / O RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS AM AR AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW: WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with L. A. Purtell, G.W.O. 10400, for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and/or avenues in said city including among others the following: Teak Avenue from its intersection with a line 7 feet South of the North Property Line of East 33rd Street to its intersection with a line 14.64 feet South of the Forth Property Line of East 31st Street, known and designated as Sub-Unit Number 39 of Unit Number 2099. AND WHEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the above- mentioned streets and/or avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract G.W.O. 10400. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned streets and/or avenues be and the same are hereby accepted, and the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to direct payment of the city's portion of the cos . Senter, Jr. City Attorney P(� RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Lubbock Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Lubbock Cou.i�:y Sheriff's Office were called upon to exert especially tight security measures during Senator Barry Goldwater's visit to Lubbock on Thursday, October 8, 1964, and WHEREAS, these departments were responsible for providing security at the Municipal Airport, escorting the official motorcade from the Airport to the Municipal Coliseum, providing security at the Coliseum, and escorting the official motorcade from the Coliseum back to the Airport and providing security until the plane departed, and WHEREAS, the above-named departments performed their duties efficiently, unobtrusively, and in a fine spirit of cooperation, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: That the members of the Lubbock Police Department, the Texas g Department of Public Safety, and the Lubbock County Sheriffs Office are hereby commended for the excellent manner in which they performed their. duties during Senator Goldwater's visit to Lubbock. Purtell, paving contractor, under his contract dated April 1, 1963, designated as G.W.O. 10400' and find the improvements on Teak Avenue from 31st Street to 33rd Street as listed on the final estimate sheet to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and recommend that you accept the improvements on said streets and/or avenues, authorising payment to the contractor the amount shown on the attached consolidated final estimate sheet as due him by the City of Lubbock.
