Cox- Portion Of E 22Nd St, Between Date & Elm Avenues - 05_28_1964 36-1-64 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAI DEED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO A PORTION OF EAST 22ND STREET BETWEEN DATE AND ELM AVENUES, MORE FULLY DE- ' I i SCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS RESOLUTION, I WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the following described portions of East 22nd Street heretofore closed and abandoned by Ordinance No, %oo is no longer needed for public use as a public street; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit Claim Deed to Mrs. Willie M. Cox, a widow, covering the following described property, to-wi : BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 6, Block 30, Wheelock=s Second Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East along the South line of said Lot 6, the same being the North line of East 22nd Street, a distance of 140.0 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 6; THENCE South a distance of 25.0 feet to a point in the center line of East 22nd Street; THENCE West along said center line a distance of 140.0 feet to a point; THENCE North 25.0 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Secretary shall attest to the signature of the Mayor to said:deeds and shall affix the seal of the City of Lubbock thereto. Cox, a widow of the County of Lubbock and State of Texas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do, by these presents, BARGAIN, SELL, RELEASE, and FOREVER QUIT CLAIM unto the said Mrs. Willie M. Cox, a widow, her heirs and assigns, all its right title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Lubbock and State of Texas, described as follows, to-wit: BEGINNINGS at the southwest corner of Lot 6, Block 30. Wheelock's Second Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East along the South line of said Lot 6, the same being the North line of East 22nd Street, a distance of 140.00 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 6; THENCE South a distance of 25.0 feet to a point in the center line of East 22nd Street: THENCE West along said center line a distance of 140.0 feet to a point; THENCE North 25.0 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, together with all and singular the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto the said Mrs. Willie M. Cox, a widow her heirs and assigns, forever, so that neither it the said City of Lubbock nor its successors and assigns, nor any person or per- sons claiming under it shall, at any time hereafter, have, claim or demand any right or title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances, or any part thereof.
