RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION 1599 - 3/8/84
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds that the land
hereinafter described is needed for public purposes, to -wit: for the
widening of North Quaker Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the westernmost boundary of said land bisects a house whose
presence constitutes an obstacle to the accomplishment of said public
purposes and must be removed in its entirety; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Right -of -Way Department of the City of Lubbock is
hereby authorized and directed to make an offer on behalf of the City of
Lubbock in the amount of $35,000 to Omer E. Sharpe and Edith L. Sharpe (as
owners) for the purchase by the City of a tract of land and the house
hereinbefore mentioned to be used as set forth in the preamble hereof.
Said land is described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a set 60 penny nail which bears S. 00006152" E. a
distance of 3247.2 feet from the Northwest corner of Section 18, Block
A, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East, along the North line of said Sharpe tract, a distance of
65.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod set for the Northeast corner of this
tract;
THENCE S. 00006152" E. a distance of 300.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
set for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE West, along the South line of said Sharpe tract, a distance of
65.00 feet to a 60 penny nail set in the West line of Section 18 and
the Southwest corner of said Sharpe tract and for the Southwest corner
of this tract;
THENCE N. 00006152/1 W., along the West line of Section 18, and along
the West line of said Sharpe tract, a distance of 300.00 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.

SECTION 2. THAT said purchase is to be accomplished by the Right -of -
Way Department.
