. � WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
East 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend,
straighten and widen said East 50th Street ; and,
WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
Idescribed; and,

WHEREAS, Opal Ruth James, Ralph B. Blaylock and wife
_Viola E. Blaylock
own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ 2887_0o and the
Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BLUBBOCK:

THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated
in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of
{ Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening
I� the public street known and designated as East 50th Strept
I which land is more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land out of the NE 1/4 of Section 1s Block E, Lubbock County,
a Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows;
BEGINNING at a point 2310.0 feet East and 40.0 feet South of the
NW corner of the NE 1/4 of Section 1, Block E, as said 112 section
corner was established by Sylvan Sanders; (said point of beginning
is 10.0 feet South of the original NW corner of Tract 2, James
Subdivision, an addition to the City of Lubbock)
THENCE South a distance of 91+0 feet to a point;
it THENCE Southeasterly a distance of 300.33 feet to a point said
point being 33.59 feet South of the original NE corner of Tract
1 in said James Subdivision;
THENCE North a distance of 23.59 feet to a point;
f" THENCE West a distance of 300.0 feet to the point of beginning.

j THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart-
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use
�I and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to dcquire the fee simple
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
