WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore ;!
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
n ! East 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend,
mil straighten and widen said East 50th StrpPt ; and,
!I WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for .
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
described; and,
WHEREAS, Olen C . Lee and wife, Lometa T.PP_XA 1 ann T. Mcnan4s1
and wife Ruby McDaniel and P. J. James

own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ 2?n7 n n and the

Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated
in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of
Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening
the public street known and designated as Fast Stith StrsaC
which land is more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land out of the SE 1/4 of Section,6, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as f ollowss
BEGINNING at a point 40.0 feet North of the SE corner of Section
6, Block B; (said point of beginning is 15.0 feet North of the
original SE corner of Lot 1, Block 19, Nelson Brown Addition to
the City of Lubbock)
THENCE North a distance of 6.41 feet to a point; r
THENCE Northwesterly a distance of 330.37 feet to a point, said
point being 330.0 feet West and 62.01 feet North of the SE corner
'! of said Section 6, Block B;
THENCE South a distance of 22.01 feet to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 330.0 feet to the point of beginning.
THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart-
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the. City of Lubbock to 4cquire the fee simple
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
