TDWR Et Al- Regarding Post Reservoir - 07_28_1983RESOLUTION 1437 - 7/28/83 JCR:cl RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE PURPOSE OF INTERVENTION IN THE CASE OF MR. AND MRS. BILLY WAYNE WILLIAMS ET AL V. TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES ET AL, PENDING IN TRAVIS COUNTY WHICH CASE APPEALS AN ORDER OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES GRANTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO THE WHITE RIVER MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT TO COMPLETE CON- STRUCTION OF THE POST RESERVOIR, SAID ORDER BEING DATED JANUARY 28, 1983. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Water Resources did enter its Order granting to the White River Municipal Water District an extension of time to complete construction of the Post Reservoir, and WHEREAS, said Order entered on January 28, 1983 has been appealed to the District Court in Travis County, and WHEREAS, the construction of the Post Reservoir is of great importance to the City of Lubbock in connection with the City Justiceburg Reservoir project, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to e in the best interest of the citizens of this City to employ egal counsel and instruct said counsel to intervene on behalf of he City in the above mentioned appeal. OW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UBBOCK: THAT the Austin law firm of Booth, Lloyd and Simmons be etained to represent the City of Lubbock as intervenor in the ase styled Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wayne Williams et al v. Texas epartment of Water Resources, pending in State District Court in ravis County, Texas. THAT said law firm so retained be instructed to support the ction of the Texas Department of Water Resources in granting the ermit in question to White River Municipal Water District as uch action is of great importance to the City of Lubbock. assed by the City Council this 28th day of July , 1983.
