WHEREAS, the Southwest Digest has received the E: Washington Rhodes Award
for Best Original Advertising, and
WHEREAS, said award was given by the National Newspaper Publishers Asso-
ciation, and
WHEREAS, the award evidences Southwest Digest's commitment to the highest
standards of journalism and publishing, and
WHEREAS, Southwest Digest was selected to receive this award for 1983 from
among 300 newspapers, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge Southwest Digest's achieve
ment, NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock congratulates the Southwest
Digest upon the receipt of the E. Washington Rhodes Award and commends the
Digest for its commitment to the high standards of journalism it has achieved.
