The stated amount for such contract is $8,260.00, attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. WITNESSETH: THAT WHEREAS, the Purchaser has caused to be prepared, in accordance with law, specifications, plans, and other contract documents for the work herein described, and has approved and adopted said documents, and has caused to be published, in the manner and for the time required by law, an advertisement for and in connection with acquiring Substation Fence in accordance with the terms of this Contract; and WHEREAS, the said Contractor, in response to such advertisement, has submitted to the Purchaser, in the manner and at the time specified, a sealed proposal in accordance with the terms of said advertisement; and WHEREAS, the Purchaser, in the manner prescribed by law, has publicly opened, examined, and canvassed the proposals submitted in response to the published invitation therefor, and as a result of such canvass has determined and declared the aforesaid Contractor to be the best bidder for the said work and has duly awarded to the said Contractor a contract therefor, for the sum or sums named in the Contractor's proposal, a copy thereof being attached to and made a part of this Contract. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the compensation to be paid to the Contractor and of the mutual agreements herein contained, the Parties to these presents have agreed and hereby agree, the Purchaser for itself and its successors, and the Contractor for itself, himself, or themselves, -or its, his, or their successors and assigns, or its, his, or their executors and administrators, as follows: ARTICLE I. That the Contractor shall (a) Furnish all materials,. supplies, and equipment specified and required to be incorporated in and form a permanent part of the completed work; (b) Provide and perform all necessary work; and, in a good, substantial, and workmanlike manner and in accordance with the provisions of the General Conditions, and the Instructions to Bidders, (which are attached hereto and made a part hereof) and in conformity with the Specifications Number SE-0001-9-033183 (c) Execute and complete all work included in and covered by the Purchaser's official award of this Contract to the said Contractor, such award being based on the acceptance by the Purchaser of the Contractor's proposal, or part thereof, as follows: Substation Fence l.r.� 1lLt 11. i }gat Lhe :: rc} user small pay to the Contractor for the performance of the work embraced in this Contract, and the Contractor will accept as full compensation therfor, the sum (subject to adjustment as pro- vided by the Contract) of _ Eight thousand two hundred sixty dollars ($ 8,260.00 ) for all work covered by and included in the Contract award and designated in the foregoing Article I. Contractor shall not'delay the start of the work to be performed under the provisions of this Contract except by written order from the Purchaser. STANDARD CHAIN LINK FENCE SPECIFICATIONS I. STYLE FENCE Chain link fence with three strands of barbed wire on 450 extension arms. Fence to be nine (9) feet high overall when erec'fed. 11. FABRIC ' Steel wire to be ninety-six (96) inches high, #9 gauge woven in a two (2) inch mesh with barbed selvages top and bottom. The wire pickets shall stand a minimum tensile strength -of 80,000 PSI based on a cross sectional area of wire. 111. PROTECTIVE COATING The chain link fabric shall be either galvanized after weaving or aluminum coated. Galvanizing shall be 2 oz. per sq. ft. of area in accordance with ASTM A392 Class 11. Aluminum coating shall be .40 oz. per sq. ft. of area in accordance with ASTM A491-63-T. IV. BOTTOM TENSION WIRE E BARBED WIRE Steel barbed wire to be of 4 point pattern composed of two strands of 121 gauge line wires with 14 gauge barbs spaced on approximately five (5) inch centers. Bottom tension wire shall be No. 7 gauge spring coil tension wire, fastened to chain link fabric with No. 11 gauge hog rings on twenty-four (24) inch centers. Coating shall match coating of fabric furnished. V. TOP RAIL 1-5/8" OD Schedule 40 galvanized pipe, or 1-5/8" x 4" galvanized roll section. Fabric to be tied to top rail every 24" with #9 gauge aluminum tie wires. VI. BRACES Same material as top rail and trussed from line post back to terminal post with 3/8" galvanized rod complete with truss tightener. VII. LINE POSTS Galvanized Hi Carbon 1.875" H-Column or 2-3/8" OD Schedule 40 pipe, spaced on centers not to exceed ten (10) feet. Post equipped with #6 gauge gal- vanized clips on. fourteen (14) inch centers. -111. EXTENSION ARMS Line post extension arms to withstand a minimum pull down weight of 450 lbs. from end of arm and are to be made of pressed steel or malleable iron base - 1 - with pressed steel extension riveted and galvanized after assembly. IX. TERMINAL POSTS End, corner, and pull posts to be 2-7/8" OD Schedule 40 galvanized pipe, or 31" x 31" galvanized roll formed section. Fabric to be attached to terminal posts by use of T' x 3/4" tension bars laced to post every 14" with•11 gauge 1" wide steel bands and 3/8" diameter bolts and nuts, or by integrally weav- ing wire to post in formed lock loops. Pipe posts -to have cast iron or , pressed steel top of manufacturer's standard design. X. GATE POSTS Maximum opening 6' single or 12' double - 277/8" OD Schedule 40 galvanized pipe, or 31" x 31" galvanized roll section. Maximum opening 12' single or 24' double - 4" OD galvanized pipe weight 9.11#1 per ft. Maximum' opening 18' single or 36' double - 6-5/8" OD galvanized pipe weight 18.971 per ft. Over 18' single or 36' double - 8-5/8" OD galvanized pipe weight. XI. GATES Frame to be 2" OD galvanized pipe with pressed steel or malleable .iron corner ells riveted with 4 rivets per corner. Internal bracing shall be 1-3/8" OD pipe with 3/8" adjustable truss rods. Gate shall be complete with padlocking device, center rest and semi -automatic catch to secure drive gate in open position. XII. TOLERANCE Standard Mill Tolerances on all framework members and chainilink fabric apply. XIII. ERECTION Fence to be installed by skilled and experienced fence erectors and on lines and grades furnished by owner. All line posts to be set in concrete founda- tion a minimum of 9" diameter and a minimum of 30" deep.
